THE HIGHEST
SAFETY STANDARDS
Your safety stands at the heart of my business.
My experience encapsulating placentas goes back since 2012, and I have encapsulated well over 1000 placentas during that time. I began by learning one-on-one with my doula mentor. Then, wanting to dive deeper, completed one of the top internationally known placenta preparation training programs. After that, I continued my education with hours of independent research and study, trained and certified with OSHA to handle bloodborne pathogens, and got certified in food handling safety.
Always wanting to stay current with the latest research and methods, I was intrigued when when a fellow Placenta Specialist from San Francisco told me about the Association of Placenta Preparation Arts (APPA) and how it is considered the "bachelor's degree in placenta arts." The program can take up to a year to complete and is considered to be the most rigorous, in-depth, and unwavering in its designated sanitation protocol. Wanting the best training so that I can offer the HIGHEST QUALITY OF CARE to my clients, I signed up for the program. I was impressed with the training, which covered everything from anatomy, research and studies, placenta traditions from all over the world, safety and sanitation, postpartum expectations and mood disorders, and of course “how to” encapsulate.
All of my experience, as well as my training and certification with APPA has led to one thing: superior client safety and rigorous standards applied to every aspect of your care.

The Most Thorough + Safe Protocols:
Upon reservation, you will receive detailed instructions on how your placenta should be cared for before I arrive, according to your birth location's protocols.
You are given details about encapsulation options and you choose from either Raw Start or Traditional Methods for dehydration.
An electronic contract is provided.
Secure electronic payments available, including Zelle, Venmo and Paypal.
Full service includes being on-call for your birth, pick-up, preparation and delivery with complete privacy & discretion.
You or your partner text during labor and after birth.
Once I have picked up your placenta, I transport it according to food safety standards, ensuring proper refrigeration and storage.
In most cases, I will then start the encapsulation process in my designated workspace as soon as I have returned home. If there is a delay because I have another placenta already processing, your appropriately labeled placenta is stored in my dedicated refrigerator with its temperature monitored at regular intervals.
The entire preparation surface is cleaned before and after with a bleach solution, the dilution of which exceeds OSHA protocols. I use as much single-use, disposable equipment as possible, and those items that are not disposable are all APPA approved and required to be washed in hot soapy water, rinsed, then fully immersed in a 10% bleach solution for 15 minutes with a final clean water rinse to remove bleach residue. To add an extra level of safety I use concentrated bleach which is 8.25% sodium hypochlorite instead of standard bleach which is 3 – 6% sodium hypochlorite. I also use hospital-grade SaniCloths for cleaning surfaces that don’t come in contact with your placenta.
I only work on one placenta at a time – yours. If two clients give birth on the same day I complete the first placenta, fully disinfect and then begin the second placenta. Each receives my full attention to detail and safety. I also work with back-up encapsulators whom I trust, for those instances where I am unable to process yours due to illness or I feel I would be too delayed.
Your placenta products are clearly labeled and I provide an eBook guide with detailed information on your placenta products and tips on postpartum recovery.
